Lovage - Levisticum officinale

Perennial from zone 4-8. Flower stalk will grow to about 6-7 feet. An essential plant for the herb and vegetable garden. Edible stems, leaves, and seeds have a stronger celery taste than celery, but are best mixed in stews, salads, or soups because of strong taste. Plant can be blanched (blocked from sunlight with a pot or other shielding) in order to whiten the plant and give it a lighter taste. Yellow flowers can attract beneficial insects and pollinators.
