Parsley - Petroselinum crispum

Parsley – Petroselinum crispum

Biennial in zones 5-9. Grows to about 2.5 feet. A very easy to grow plant that is an essential part of the culinary and medicinal herb garden. Considered to be a natural vitamin and mineral supplement because of high magnesium, iron, and iodine, as well as vitamins A, B, and C. Edible leaves make a great garnish plant for salads, and used in soups, sauces, and stews. Will overwinter in its first year of growth and produce seed in its second year of growth. Dedicate an area to parsley and let it reseed itself each year for a continual supply. Cut frequently to encourage new growth.
