Siberian Pea Shrub/Tree - Caragana arborescens

Siberian Pea Shrub/Tree – Caragana arborescens

Cold hardy to as low as zone 2. A perennial shrub that grows as high as 20 feet. Makes a great multifunctional wind-break or hedge that will also fix nitrogen and improve the soil, attract bees and other wildlife, produce edible seed pods that are one of the most ideal chicken fodders, and act as a good chop-and-drop plant for mulching/feeding surrounding plants (especially fruit or nut trees). This plant also has a broad root system that makes it a good candidate for erosion control.
